Minor League Recap from July 5

Quick look at former Osprey around the minors …

– Jae Yun Kim (2009-10) had two hits and two runs scored, while Westley Moss (2011) added a hit and a run scored in Yakima’s 5-4 loss to Boise in 10 innings on Tuesday. Alex Capaul (2011) was touched up a bit in his first start, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out two batters in 4 1/3 innings pitched.

– RayWilly Gomez (2009) had a hit and a run scored, but the South Bend Silver Hawks were held to three hits in a 7-5 loss to Dayton on Tuesday. Former Billings Mustang infielder Billy Hamilton swiped two more bases – he now has 60 stolen bases on the season. Bradin Hagens (2010) allowed three runs (two earned) but did not make it through the fifth. What kind of night was it like? Former Osprey reliever Keith Cantwell (2009) allowed a run on a walk – he did not give up a hit. Neither did reliever Jeremy Erben (2010), but also allowed a run.

– Get the feeling that the Visalia Rawhide really miss Adam Eaton (2010) – who was promoted to Double-A Mobile on July 2 – as the Rawhide offense generated just a run on five hits in a 6-1 setback at Inland Empire. David Nick (2009) had two hits, and has his batting average up to .290, while Rossmel Perez (2008) added a baseknock for Visalia.

– Just when you think Paul Goldschmidt (2009) is slowing down … think again. Goldschmidt singled and doubled, plus drove in his Double-A leading 76th run in Mobile’s 10-2 rout of Birmingham. Speaking of Eaton – just a  3-for-6 night with a run scored and a RBI, hitting .316 at the moment. Ollie Linton (2008) added two hits and two runs scored, while Bryan Henry (2007) worked the final four innings and picked up his second save of the season.
