Getaway from GF lineups and some news

There are fewer phrases that will put a smile on a baseball player’s face than the phrase “getaway day.” Sometimes, even on three-game road trips, it’s nice to hear.

The Osprey are back home tomorrow night for a three-game set with the Helena Brewers. For now, there is business to handle before the Tucker Transportation bus shuttles the Osprey back from Great Falls, namely, attempting to sweep the road trip.

Because of the technical issues we had at the beginning of last night’s broadcast, we still have Justin Thompson as our pre-game interview tonight. On the air at 6:40, first pitch set for 7 p.m. on AM 930 KMPT and online at MissoulaOsprey.com.

Notes:
– The Michael Johnson home run last night snapped the bullpen’s scoreless innings streak at 20 innings, spanning parts of seven games.

– This is the third time that the Osprey have won three games in a row, but on the first two occasions, they were not able to turn it into a four-game win streak.

– Over the past 10 games, the Osprey pitching staff as a whole has been on a roll. They have posted a 7-3 mark and a 2.32 ERA in that span. Over the past five game – since the start of the second half, the O’s are 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 49 innings.
